With the European economy struggling, it is advisable to save every penny you have for sustainability. Mitsubishi did just that.

If you have just €1 (S$1.55) to spare you might just buy yourself an assembly plant. No seriously, according to Reuters, that is how much Mitsubishi has sold off its Dutch assembly plant to bus-maker VDL Group. €1. True Story.

According to Autoblog this is probably the cheapest automotive purchase since the year 2000, when Phoenix Consortium bought Rover for £10 (S$19.60). Though personally, if you ask me, this is probably the cheapest purchase in the history of automobiles. Heck this is probably the most practical cheapest purchase in the history of mankind. I think, I'm not very strong in history.

Anyway, the good thing is, almost 1,500 workers whom are working at this plant will not be retrenched and could be used by VDL to build BMW cars. The factory was building the Colt and Outlander crossover vehicles with an annual capacity of 200,000.

I was just wondering, if any automotive company in the world, any one including Ferrari , BMW, Proton, is available for a dollar that you could purchase, which one would it be and what would you do with it? Me? I think I'll get Audi because they seem to have a car for almost every category, its German, they have Ducati and wait they own Lamborghini

If Phoenix Consortium bought Rover for £10 then then over-paid.

Especially when this plant is only going for 1 euro.

Well...Phoenix Consortium bought the plant and the company. But with inflation, maybe they should have paid not more than £6 :)
