These are the first photos of the BMW X1 with the M Sport Package. The package will be available later this year for all engine versions of the X1 and comprises of suspension, exterior and interior components specially developed for the SUV.

The external enhancements include sports suspension calibration and 17-inch double-spoke M alloy wheels for even sharper driving dynamics. Alternatively, the M Sports package can be supplied with 18-inch double-spoke M alloy wheels. The M Sports package for the BMW X1 also features an M Aerodynamics package, door sills with the M logo and BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line trim for the side window surrounds and roof rails. New metallic exterior paint colours include Alpine White, Le Mans Blue, Sapphire Black, Space Grey, Vermillion Red and Mineral White.

Going on to the interior, sports seats are upholstered in cloth/alcantara. M leather-trimmed steering wheel with multifunction buttons and an M footrest for the driver are part of the M Sports package. Dark cross-brushed aluminium interior trim, M gearshift lever (for manual version) and leather handbrake lever gaiter completes the interior updates.

Most likely, this is just a body kit with no engine performance upgrading involved. However, the new 2.0 liter turbo 4-cylinder petrol engine in the X1 xDrive28i would be a good match.

I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.
