The concept model measures 4.44 meters (length) by 1.84 meters (width) by 1.39 meters (height). The length of the concept car is approximately that of an A4 two generations ago. This brings the question - Is there a need to grow the A4 so much (current generation stands at 4.7m in length) that a smaller sedan needs to be built to satisfy the market that it vacated? This is a waste of company’s R&D resources in my opinion. However, not only Audi is guilty of it. Just look at the Honda City and Toyota Vios.
Anyway, under the hood of the concept, power comes from a turbocharged five-cylinder engine that produces 402 hp. It is connected to a seven-speed S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. I do see the possibility of more “conservative” engines in the production model such as the turbocharged and twin-charged 1.4 TSI.
4.44 meters is a proper length of a compact luxury sedan, not one that is over 4.7m. If my finances allow, I would rather pick the A3 sedan over the A4.
