The Skoda VisionD Concept and the new corporate design is a preview to the future direction that Skoda wants to take with its design language and types of vehicle it wants to build. The concept features a long wheelbase with short overhangs, clearly aiming for practicality and generous cabin space. The rear brake lamp resembles the “C” shape, just like the current Octavia. However, it seemed to benefit from LED technology, which is probably learnt from its family member Audi. As a whole, the concept looked rather conservative to me, so do not expect ground breaking designs from the Czech brand. The new Skoda logo features a more prominent winged-arrow design with its color now a lush "Skoda Green" instead of the previous "natural" green”.
"We are keen to express the new power of our brand not only through our future products, but also in the way we present ourselves to partners and customers. Our new design and fresh outlook reflect our plans for the future," said Jürgen Stackmann, head of marketing and sales at Skoda. If the Czech automaker is “going to show the world what” Skoda “can be”, it should present a concept which has a more striking design language.
