All that glitters is… rubber!

To celebrate the diamond anniversary of Cooper Tires’ participation in British Formula 3 racing, it has decided to create a set of diamond-encrusted tyres. Cooper commissioned London jeweler JK Diamonds to customize the tires, which are jeweled with diamonds and Swarovski crystals. Each of the four Cooper logos was set with the gems and mounted to the tire with a super strong adhesive.

Cooper's one off set of bejeweled rubber was mounted on Rupert Svendsen-Cook's Formula 3 ride for a photo shoot, but understandably didn't see the race duty. There’s no word on whether the technology would be commercialized but I believe the billionaires residing in the Middle Eastern countries and Brunei would be very interested.

I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.
