You can tell that it is very much a boy racer with those ‘ISR’ go faster stripes on its side; ala Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Somehow no one told Bentley that the over 2000kg Continental Supersports that no matter what you do, a Bentley will not float like a butterfly and then sting like a bee. It will more or less pulverize the road with its sheer size, girth and torque. But I suppose the limited to 100 units Continental Supersports ISR Mulliner convertible is to fill a niche in the ‘I’ve got too much money and I do not know what else to do’ category. Or maybe racing stripes automatically adds an extra 100bhp just by the way it looks.
The purpose of the 631bhp 6.0liter W12 engine Continental Supersports ISR is to commemorate the Bentley Continental’s recent ice land-speed record. Yes, they ran a Bentley on ice at around 200mph and it took a record that most of us wouldn’t even think of achieving. Note that this is what ‘ISR’ stands for – Ice Speed Record.
Anyway, the Supersports ISR will come in three colors, one of which is stripes, red color trimming on the car and red 20 inch alloy wheels. The interior gets some red trimming too, mainly on the dashboard.
Prices start from £189,300 in the UK and I somehow feel that while the car set an ice speed record, most of it will be sold in the very hot Middle East.
