After this big events you would see modified Protons and Hondas tearing away on the ELITE Highway or the Sungai Besi stretch of the PLUS North –South Highway but these days, stupidity is not limited to the cheaper and more irritating mosquito sounding exhausts of mere Proton, Perodua, Honda and Toyota but BMW and Lamborghini.
So last Sunday, 19th of June 2011 after the Japan GT racing championship held over at Sepang a BMW M5 was weaving its way through traffic on the ELITE Highway followed by a Lamborghini Murcielago. I would gather that normal road users that late afternoon would be cursing and swearing at those two drivers (and also the other usual ‘post-race race drivers’) and wish that they crash. They did and it must have made many motorists jump for joy watching a RM2,350,000.00 or thereabouts Lamborghini Murcielago bite the dust.
It had basically rear ended the BMW M5, then lost control, spun a few times basically totaling the Italian Bull. No weekend stunt driver was hurt in the incident with the exception of bruised egos that will go on to be bruised for all eternity as the photos of the incident has basically spread throughout Faceter or TwitBook for all to see. The BMW driver must have jammed the brakes but when seeing the rampaging bull unable to stop must have released the brake pedal as the M5 suffered minor damage by the looks of it. Hopefully the undercarriage was not badly damaged.
And by God, what an epic fail. I mean you can have the brains to work hard and smart (or are just a silver spoon) until you are able to afford that Lamborghini but suddenly lose all sense of logic and reasoning. An epic brain fart must have happened to both of these car's owners. People should stop racing after watching a race. It isn’t something wise to do.
So I end this short little posting repeating the phrase mentioned above – With great power (640bhp of Lamborghini horses and 500bhp of M Power) lies great responsibility.
