Enter the world of independent designer David Cardoso, whose previous work on conceptual studies includes the Renault Twist, Audi Hydron concept, Cobalt coupe and the Mitsubishi Flexis. Cardoso rendered a sporty compact-sized coupe based on the latest Focus with which Ford could compete with the likes of the Peugeot RCZ, VW Scirocco and Audi TT. The 2013 Ford Focus Coupe concept is a 2+2 seat concept car. It has an aggressive styling that is inspired by the European Focus. Like most sports cars, the 2013 Ford Focus Coupe concept will have a lower ground clearance than the standard version to provide an aerodynamic look and stability at high speed. The C pillar of the concept model resembles that of the Nissan 370Z, which is not a bad thing.
I am looking forward to the concept materializing into actual production. If fitted with Ford’s 1.6L 180bhp Ecoboost engine, it could provide serious competition for the 1.4L Twin-charged VW Scirocco.
