I had the lucky opportunity of taking the BMW 1-Series M Coupe for a short drive recently, when sgCarMart had the car for a review.

And I must say, I'm deeply impressed with this amazing little car.

A BMW M car is always special, no doubt. But the 1-Series M Coupe somehow brings back to the brand what it has been missing for a while now.

Namely, a small, focused little car, with little frills, leaving the driver to concentrate on the art of just driving.

Despite the fact that it's manual only (can be troublesome in Singapore), and that the pedals are a bit too offset to the right, you just never feel bothered about these little niggles when you drive the 1M.

Because the rest of the car just feels, so addictive.

Yes the power is ferocious, but the car also handles so gamely, at your control.

It puts the power back into your hands, and the car goes along with what you ask of it. You want to flick the tail out? Sure, it will do that if you want to. You want it to go round corners quickly? It obeys your request as well.

It's just a lovable little car, and whoever gets to own one, will be very lucky indeed.

If I have to vote for the car of the year so far this year, this would be it.

wat a load of rubbish is this review? when a person has a chance to drive the car, pls write something that others who can see it dun know. all the text above are so generic, any layman who went to the showroom and do a routine test drive can write, perhaps an even better review.

Bencee is a waste of time.

He tested so few cars and voted BMW 1M as the car of the year.

I never said I reviewed the car proper. I mentioned I took the car for a 'short drive'.

Honestly, why then bother to post this blog? Especially when you are writing something so general? Which is why i asked if there is any form of moderation.

However, I still recognise some excellent entries from you. Just continue the good work and dun post for the sake of posting.

  • Is 'tiny living' really irrelevant in Singapore?

I discussed the possibility of living in tiny houses in Singapore in an earlier blog post. But as we know, it isn't an option to begin with – no thanks, of course, to our lack of land space.  Someone also pointed out that the idea of tiny houses is "romanticised" – which, I don't deny (but hey, that's why it's a dream). While it's clear tiny houses aren't going to work out here, the concept of 'tiny living' is; not just physically but also mentally. Anyone who has lived enough years lo
