BMW 1 Series Performance Accessories concept car is something I'd avoid

BMW has brought out the new BMW 1 Series Performance Accessories concept car for the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. It basically has the usual bells and whistles that you would find in any tuning kit. This means a different front and rear bumpers, new side skirts, bits of carbon fiber here and there, sports suspension to get that lowered tuned look, the larger wheel and tire combo, interior retrim, M sport steering wheel and lastly, a BBK Big Brake Kit so that the car will stop sooner.

This is what the new BMW 1 Series Performance Accessories concept car has but I have to add one thing after viewing the photos. The car still looks as sad as ever even though it does have a bodykit and big rims. In fact, I somehow believe that the standard car (pictured above) seems to have that lithe and nimble look to it and this car looks a little heavy around the waist. I'd keep the large alloys but I'd pass on the body kit as in my opinion the rear looks slightly less proportionate than the standard rear end. Then again it could be the camera angle.

But how can a BMW look like a sad, pathetic old man is somehow beyond me. Maybe if you're driving the car it would be quite alright as you don't have to look at it while grasping that stupendous looking alcantara wrapped steering wheel.
