150 unused Chrysler Neon was found recently in Singapore and a local company is selling them for US$1350 each (rather cheap if you were to ask me). An ad listed by the company at alibaba.com shows that they are 1997 models, have a displacement of 2 litres, practically zero mileage and all are in right hand drive. The company name is Arete Trading Pte Ltd. A short internet check shows that the company is listed locally. The cars are being sold as a lot, if anyone is interested.
Not much was revealed as to where exactly in Singapore were this cars found and why were they left just like that. Condition of the cars was not known but judging from the picture, they need one hell of a wash. One of the probable reasons why they are being sold rather cheaply is because, I believe, much needs to be done before they can be used again.
I can’t remember whether Chrysler had a dealership in Singapore at that time. Could it be that some deal had gone bad and the cars were left abandoned just like that? Or perhaps, the cars were for another market and nobody tried to collect it? Whatever it is, it is sad to see unused cars left just like that because they are built to be used or in this case, driven.
