Lamborghini is famous for its Countach, Diablo and Gallardo. The name Lamborghini itself is synonymous with fast sports cars. They have been making sports cars ever since the company was founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963 and the only time they made a vehicle that’s not a sports car is during the 1980s, when they released their LM002 SUV. But now the company, once again, is venturing into the non-sports supercar market segment.

Lamborghini plans to introduce a third model to accompany its two model line-up and it could be either a sedan, SUV or something totally unexpected. Rumours has it that the Lamborghini Estoque Concept car (pictured below) could be the one that Lamborghini is going to produce. Lamborghini intends to make the decision and at the same time introduce the “new model” by early 2012 and the model will only be on sale after 2016.

It is clear that Lamborghini is venturing into market segments that automakers like Bentley and Porsche has seen and gain profitability. Lamborghini is one of those automakers that has only a few models and in order for them to survive or to be profitable, they have to expand into the abovementioned market.

If Lamborghini chooses the Estoque as the new model, then it would be a wise choice as it would rival cars like the Panamera or the CLS 63 AMG.
