The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is one rare exotic car and loved by many car enthusiasts. Its price was close to £300,000 when it first came out, making it one of the most expensive production car. Obviously, it is something only the super rich can afford. What happens if you badly want one and you don’t have the cash to afford it? You build one, of course.
Meanwhile in Russia, some car nut, who faces the same issues mentioned earlier, built a replica of a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren purely by hand and with no special, expensive tools. What we see is basically the car’s body shell.
Not known to us is what base car was used to built this and what sort of engine and drivetrain will be used later on. The car is purely made out of steel and the Russian guy named it Valentina, after his wife (probably to make up for the countless nights building it in the garage).
With lots of effort and no high-tech tools used, this Russian guy was able to built one hell of a replica. That to me is dedication and if it was really made out of steel, then it will be one heavy ride. He could have used other lighter materials but, perhaps, steel was cheaper and widely available there.
At this present state, it looks like something suitable for the movies Mad Max and/or Death Race. Just needs a rocket launcher fixed on it.
