It’s a pity we don’t get the DTM races broadcasted on any of the cable sports channels (someone correct me if I’m wrong on this. You’re always left out when you’re signed up onto the basic group).
Maybe just once in a while, on some highlight segment, during a half-hour motorsports program most of us don’t even care in remembering, we’d catch the last 5 minutes before it cuts to the credits.
A couple of days ago a friend linked me a video that reminded me of exactly how exciting motorsports was to watch back in the early 90s. Where racing wasn’t about the controversial rules, the green movement, the deepest bank accounts, driver’s girlfriends or the multi-million dollar yacht’s anchored at the side of the track.
The video was a great revelation to the forgotten golden era.of the gorgeous Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo 1’s and the E30’s parading around challenging tracks, trading fastest laps and positions multiple times within each race
It’s just unfortunate we don’t get to see enough of the DTM races (and other classes like WTCC and even Formula 3), which I dare say can be much more exciting than the commercialized Formula 1 circus.
Still not convinced?
