The owner of the Veyron has been dragged to a civil court by the insurance company, Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Company, for insurance fraud. The insurance company believes that House and Llyod Gillespie (who is the financier and partial claimant to the insurance claims) conspired to drive the car into the lake and hopes to collect a US$2.2 million insurance policy.
The insurance company came to this conclusion after speaking with the owner and Joe Garza, who videotaped the incident. And another unnamed party has come forward to inform the insurance company that House offered him money to take the car and burn it down.
On top of this, the insurance company mentioned that the Veyron’s 1,200 miles mileage was excessive and beyond the scope of his vehicle policy. In addition, the Veyron and a Ferrari Enzo, both owned by House, were insured for private use but the vehicles were purchased and used for Andy House’s auto delearship, Performance Auto Sales.
The insurance company is asking the civil court to dismiss House’s claims or obligate the company to pay only the lien value of the Bugatti Veyron.
