Initially built only as a concept, the Nissan Juke Nismo garnered a lot of positive attention during the recent 2011 Tokyo Motor Show and this has encouraged Nissan to build it for real.
The car will be based on the concept which was showcased recently at the Tokyo Motor Show. Nissan’s official tuner, Nismo, is set to mass produce the car if given the green light by Nissan. And if that really happens, the car will be built at Nissan’s factory in England and all the Nismo parts will be shipped directly to the United Kingdom from Japan.
Nismo’s president Shoichi Miyatani had this to say about the Juke Nismo plans, “If we concentrate on going for high performance then it could take around two years, but if we compromise slightly on performance then it could take about one year.” It seems that the car’s production readiness depends on how much power Nismo is going to bestow on the Juke.
The Juke’s 1.6 litre turbocharged engine delivers around 190bhp in stock form. With some additional boost increase, remap and other modifications; the car is easily able to deliver around roughly 50bhp more.
It is not known whether Nissan will entirely mass produce the Nismo Juke or will it be available as a limited edition. But at least it gives consumers the opportunity to own a non-standard Nissan Juke after being seduced with the Juke-R.
