Reports of Volvo’s plans to release a new hatchback model was first reported late last year and the model will be called the V40. But at that time, there were no photos or images of the said model. Now, thanks to a Polish automotive website (Motodziennik), we can see how the V40 looks like. It is widely known that Volvo intends to reveal the car at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show next month.
The photos were first shown at Motodziennik’s Facebook page and they look rather legitimate. Firstly, the styling designs of the car are very much the usual Volvo deal, from the stylish front snout up to the bulging tail gate. Both pictures may look the same but strangely, they are not. If you look carefully, both pictures show the car with a different set of wheels and spoilers.
After these pictures were shown, the Polish website released a statement on their Facebook page stating that these are not official press release photos of the Volvo V40. Instead, they got it from an unnamed source from Sweden. But Motodziennik did confirm the picture’s authenticity with Volvo Poland and they did inform Volvo that they will release them online.
These pictures may be rendering of the V40 and they featured several differences and that is probably why we see the two different sets of wheels and spoilers. Even if they are not official press releases, we roughly have an idea of what Volvo has in store for everyone at the Geneva Motor Show later and I personally feel that this is one nice looking car from the Swedish automaker.
