2013 Lexus ES sedan spied in China

The last Lexus ES sedan that was offered on sale in Singapore was the fourth generation. Some five years later, the all-new sixth generation ES sedan has been spotted virtually camouflage-free in China, except for some stickers covering the alloy rims which reminds one of nipple tape, that is not covering much in reality.

The 2013 ES sedan has a long and sleek profile, give it a more aerodynamic look than its GS sibling. The headlamp design as well as the spindle grille bears styling cues of the latest Lexus products, while the rear light combination resembles those of its bigger brother, the LS460. Like its predecessors, the sixth generation of the Lexus ES luxury sedan is built upon the chassis of the Toyota Camry but features its own sheetmetal and interior designs.

Going on to the interior, the dashboard has a two-tone treatment with a circular analog clock at the middle. Although the steering is covered up by an unsightly piece of newspaper, we can roughly tell that it has a 3-spoke design. Overall, the layout looks modern, simple and uncluttered, which is rather ‘Zen-like’.

The model captured in these pictures is the ES 250 with the smaller 2.5-liter V6. Going by the specifications of the latest GS250, the 2.5L should produce about 206 bhp. The ES 350 should be offered alongside in selected markets.

I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.

Found it funny why these pple attempted to cover the badges at the wheel hubs and steering wheel.. when the more obvious ones are the front & back.

Perfect for old people. That's why it's so popular here in the USA. All I see is old people driving the Lexus ES around.

Love the 2002 to 2006 model! Bet this would be much much better. Hope its rear wheel drive unlike previous generations. The front is kinda out of proportion though...
