Production version of new Ford Focus ST to debut in Beijing

Ford will unveil the production version of the Focus ST at the upcoming 2012 Beijing Motor Show. Under the “One Ford” directive, the Focus ST will be offered in the same trim around the globe. This means that the Chinese customers will also be able to enjoy the adrenaline rush, courtesy of the 2.0-litre 250hp Ecoboost power plant that will launch the hatchback from 0 to 100km/h in 6.5 seconds.

Nigel Harris, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford Motor China claimed, the ST to be the performance flagship of the new Focus range. He also mentioned the ST to represent an ultimate expression of Focus driving quality and performance.

"The ST represents an ultimate expression of Focus driving quality and performance. The Focus ST will be a serious driving machine, and our design and engineering teams have developed a purposeful exterior combined with a cockpit that blends sporting function with impressive comfort.”

The Focus ST will be presented in Beijing with a close ratio 6-speed manual transmission with Ford's heavy duty double-clutch transmission to be an anticipated option.The performance braking components, 18-inch alloy rims, aggressive front fascia and integrated exhaust provides the ST with striking looks from other members of the Focus family. Like a "M" or "AMG", badge the “ST” badged interior for the Ford tells you that this is no ordinary Ford Focus.
