Dodge Dart. However, it is more appropriate to call the Viaggio a re-styled Dart. As we can see from the photos, the Viaggio has a pair of rounder headlights and gets a chrome grille. Even the fog light housings are chromed. At the rear, while the Dart gets an LED stripe across the boot, the Viaggio’s rear lights are more conventional. Overall, the Viaggio has a more luxurious look while the Dart looks sharper and sportier.
No interior image of the Viaggio is available at the moment but I reckon that it should follow closely to the layout of the Dart. Given that the Dart has been named as one of winners of Ward’s Auto 10 best interiors of 2012, the Viaggio’s cabin should not disappoint.
The Viaggio is the first vehicle that Fiat will produce in China with its local partner, Guangzhou Automobile Group. The Dart will go on sale in China in the third quarter of this year. The Chinese buyers will be offered with a choice of two turbocharged petrol engines, the 1.4-litre T-Jet in either 120hp or 150hp settings. They are mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or Fiat’s 6-speed dual clutch gearbox.
