Peugeot will be unveiling an almost production ready version their upcoming 508 sedan at the Geneva Motor Show next month. The new model will replace the 407 and 607 beginning in 2011.

The 5 by Peugeot Concept car is a 200bhp, all-wheel drive luxury sedan that comes with the French brand's Hybrid4 technology. The concept car features a 2.0 liter Hdi diesel engine with 163bhp, coupled to an electric motor (at the rear) with an additional 37bhp. Fuel economy is 3.8 liters/100km and the car's total emissions come in at 99 g/km (zero when running on electrical power alone.).

Design-wise, the model seems to borrow a little from the C6 from sister brand Citroen with its sleek lines and round ends. LED lights and 19-inch rims are also featured in the 5, helping to make its total look seem more production-ready than pure concept fantasy.

We can expect Peugeot to show us the production ready model at the Paris Motor Show this September.

I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.

Why isn't anybody excited whether this car will come SG? I mean... 20km/l, 200bhp, AWD... like... WOW ??!?

I'd gladly afford the diesel tax for so much joy in driving.
