The current Fiat Bravo has been a little long in the tooth. It has been around since 2007 and its main competitors such as the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf and Opel Astra have either come out with newer models or undergone facelift since 2007. The unloved Fiat Bravo never achieves the expected annual sales of 120,000 units, with its best year in 2008 when 95,292 units were delivered.

Rumors suggested that a hatchback version of the upcoming Fiat Viaggio sedan would be marketed as the new Bravo. With reference to the patent drawings of the Dodge Dart hatchback released recently, Theophilus Chin, a car enthusiast living in Singapore, came up with a set of renderings for the new Bravo. For readersí information, the Fiat Viaggio is based on the Dodge Dart.

The side profile of the car reminds me of the 1990s Mazda Astina, which in my opinion, is one of the best looking compact 4-door car at that time. The current Fiat Bravo has a sleek and sporty front end. The excessive chrome on the carís front rendering has made hatchback look more upmarket but at the same time, reduced its aura of sportiness.

In a review of the Bravo by What Car?, rear knee room was found to be a bit tight. This problem could be resolved in the new car due to the extra room coming from the American-sized Dodge Dart platform.

In the mean time, enjoy the renderings!

I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.
