The 2014 BMW M3 has been spied while undergoing some testing on the famous German track, the Nurburgring, thanks to the folks at Bimmer Post. From the footage, we can see that like all previous generations of the M3, the top-of-the range BMW 3 series has subtle styling differences from its lesser siblings. The all-new M3 is observed to have two pair of exhaust pipe.

Other than the styling of the new M3, the video also give us a preview of the aural pleasure that can be derived from the cars engine and exhaust.

The 2014 BMW M3 F80 will be powered by a 3.0L 6-cylinder engine equipped with multiple turbochargers.Various sources are suggesting that the engine is going to be an updated version of the N55 unit, but will get an extensively modified cylinder head with a strengthened aluminum block.

It is expected to produce about 450 bhp. Its closes rival, the C63 AMG, churns out 451 bhp from a naturally-aspirated 6.3L V8 lump. An optional performance package should bring the total output to over 470 bhp with a top speed of 300 km/h. Dual-clutch transmission will be offered alongside with a manual option.

I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.
