On top of that, the company has also been busy with changing the company’s direction towards high performance vehicles. Toyota Motorsport GmbH aims to become the Toyota version of AMG. And now, one of the projects that they have been experimenting with is set to unveil at the 2012 Essen Motor Show.

The car that they used in the project is a Lexus LS and it is named the TMG Lexus LS 650. The project includes of preparing and building a prototype and also testing it at the Nurburgring circuit which is close to the company’s headquarters.

The prototype has been confirmed to be ready and is scheduled to be unveiled at the 2012 Essen Motor Show at the end of November. The images you see here are the scale model of the car which was used for wind tunnel testing.

In an interview with Motor Authority, TMG spokesperson Alastair Moffitt, mentioned that the TMG Lexus LS 650 is powered by a 5.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers around 600bhp. Moffitt also stated that the prototype has a targeted top speed of 200mph (321km/hr). It is believed that the engine is the same unit from the Lexus IS F.

Currently, the TMG Lexus LS 650 is just a study although production might take place if there is enough demand for it. The company will present the prototype at the above mentioned auto show to showcase their talents and also to gauge interest from the public.
