When the 9th generation Honda Civic went on sale in 2011, the design was not well-received by the automotive community. In fact, many believed that it was a step backwards from the previous generation’s attractive looks and that Honda really missed the mark on their iconic model.
In an unprecedented move, Honda tried to do some damage control by announcing to its US dealers to expect a new Civic by the end of 2012, soon after the new model was launched. Fast forward to November 2012, Honda has released the images of its 2013 Honda Civic face lift. The revised sedan will make its debut at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show.
The updated styling features a new front bumper, aggressive-looking black honeycomb mesh grille with a chromed trim at the bottom, restyled rear headlights and wears a new set of alloy rims. The revisions are not going to turn heads but nonetheless effective in uplifting a boring design.
Marketed with the tagline, “A friend for life”, the Civic is available for sale in Singapore with a 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.0L and a hybrid power train.
