The Lamborghini Gallardo started production back in 2003 and is the best-selling Lamborghini of all time with more than 10,000 sales globally. To mark the end-of-life of the Gallardo, the Italian car maker has launched a 2013MY LP 560-4 model, which is labeled as ‘The Final Gallardo’. A special video has also been produced to document the heritage of the well-loved bull.
A webpage, http://www.thefinalgallardo.com/home, has been created for customers to order this final edition of the Gallardo. On its home page, a statement reads, “"It’s been a crazy beautiful ride for the past decade. One we’ve all enjoyed. And now the last Gallardo is here, the final masterpiece of the collection. Wind in your hair, smile on your face, foot to the floor. Italy personified. Drive it now, or regret it later."
The Gallardo is powered by a 5.2L V10 engine with 560 bhp and an accompanying 540 of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed E-gear transmission. Century sprint is completed in 3.7 seconds before reaching terminal velocity of 325 km/h.
The replacement for Lamborghini’s Gallardo is set for a debut late next year or in early 2014.
I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.
