Is this the answer to louder sounding F1 cars?

By Faiming_low on 16 May 2014

Attached Image While we all know that this year's Formula One 1.6-litre V6 Turbo power units have been criticised for being too soft in terms of volume, some people prefer the quieter and more defined engine note.

Sadly, early reports indicate that the new exhaust does not make much of a difference to the volume of the engine.

F1 uses a straight through exhaust system. Unlike road cars which have catalytic converter and noise mufflers. The F1 exhaust is already at its loudest.
