Bentley has always been happy to indulge the sometimes ‘Individual’ tastes of their customers. The standard options are pretty refined – and reasonably extensive – and if you want more, there are the additional extras you can have from the Mulliner list. But however extensive the Bentley options are, they’ve not yet got round to offering ‘Pop Art’ paint jobs.
Hence it can be quite startling to see a Bentley Continental GT with a paint job by renowned ‘Pop Artist to the Stars’ Romero Britto, who has created this one-off Continental GT – donated by Bentley Motors – for his "Come to my World" exhibition in Berlin, Germany at Automobil Forum Unter den Linden. The artist says Bentley Continental GT is the nicest and the most elegant car in the world and the lines of its bodywork are perfect to do as if it was a white canvas.
According to Britto, "It (the Bentley Continental GT) is the most beautiful and elegant car in the world. The lines of the new design are perfect to paint as a clean canvas. What a way to start a fascinating and colorful journey."
Designed to put a smile on people's faces, the oddly painted Bentley features a bizarre mix of cartoonish flowers, flying hearts, and yellow stars. These unique designs are further emphasized by the GT's dark blue exterior which boasts white squiggles.
But as I’m sure you’ll have guessed that this is not just a Pop Art paint job for the sake of it. When the exhibition is over, Britto's Bentley will be auctioned off to support the Nathalie Todenhöfer Foundation for multiple sclerosis and Best Buddies, a charity for the mentally challenged. Very noble, if you asked me.
Good on Bentley for donating the Continental GT.
