blogentry-133713-0-05861100-1418897318_thumb.pngWhile on holiday in Australia, Chris Harris got an email from Alex of WHEELS magazine who reckons he should try something born and breed locally... With 577bhp and 740Nm of torque all channelled to the rear wheels only, I doubt it wasn't too difficult to tempt Chris out of his holiday and into the HSV GTS Maloo.

blogentry-133713-0-66761000-1418899435_thumb.jpgSome quick facts about the ute (or what we locally refer to as the pickup truck). It has the same supercharged 6.2-litre LSA V8 engine that is shared with its sedan counterpart and weighs almost 1,900kg. You could have it in manual or in an automatic, both of which have six-speeds. There are three driving modes that can be selected by Driver Preference Dial, making adjustments to ESC, steering and the bi-modal exhaust system to suit which mood you are in. Surprisingly, it has torque vectoring to reduce understeer. Other interesting facts but not exactly useful to us include a payload of 400kg and towing capacity of 1,600kg.

Unfortunately, the world's fastest pick-up is only limited to 250 units and this model is likely to be the last of its kind as General Motors shuts down the whole Commodore range.

While it's clear tiny houses aren't going to work out here, the concept of 'tiny living' is; not just physically but also mentally. Anyone who has lived enough years lo
