Zotye T700 - The poor man's Porsche Macan

By Faiming_low on 11 Jun 2015 in New model, Other News

Attached Image Established in 2005, Zotye, an automobile manufacturer based in Zhejiang, China, revealed its new T700 recently. And there is no doubt that it is modeled after Porsche's mid-sized SUV, the Macan. While the lights do differ from the real thing, the rest of the T700 is almost a direct copy and paste exercise. Even the shape of the door handles are almost identical!

Attached Image According to Chinese media, Zotye plans to launch the mid-size model later this year offering a choice of 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre turbocharged engines borrowed from other vehicles in their range. The 2.0-litre will have 177bhp and there is also talk of a larger 3.0-litre V6 turbo.

Attached Image Said to carry a starting price tag of 170,000 yuan (S$37,000), it is very much cheaper than the Porsche Macan which will set you back 558,000 yuan (S$121,000) in China.

Since young, Fai Ming has always centered his life around cars. In fact his first word was 'car' and not 'mum' or 'dad'. Aren't kids cute?

Hahahaha, when are they going to get around to cloning the 488 and the Aventador?

Cheefarn Jun 11 2015 04:24 PM

The interior plastics and fit/finish looks horrible... just like any other China rip off... That large screen on the dash... Did Zotye just drop in a pirated Samsung Galaxy tab 12.1 into it and call it a multi function display? Someone stole the Hyundai i40 steering wheel!

But the exterior is actually quite nice, and its not a carbon copy of the Macan... The front looks more like a Pugueot than the Macan

Anyway, why are we even spending so much time commenting on this shameless rip off?

for the price of 1/3, its an excellent car. Despite poor interior plastic finish

They just make themselves stinker. Shame all the Chinese and spoil the race too.

In future, any car model will have a distant cousin made in China.

I wonder this Zotye's accessories and option lists(if there is one) will come with factory fitted Porsche badges.  KNN if I were Porsche AG, I will sue them until Lark Koh.
