Father brings son for a drift

By Deeq on 08 Aug 2015 in Motorsports, Other blogs

Anton Avdeev is a drifter with a Toyota Sprinter that's fully prepped for drifting. The car also has a passenger, and that's where Avdeev's son likes to spend most of his time. The father-son duo have been posting drift videos for the last 3years now, and it's been great to see the son grow as the father gets more involved and further along in the sport.

It started in 2013, when Avdeev posted the first clip. The car was a Subaru Legacy with a fairly stock interior. Anton's son used a standard car seat and clearly enjoyed his shotgun drift position. Jump forward a year, and the car has given way to an extensively modified Subaru WRX STI Coupe that's more than eager to rotate into controlled oversteer. The interior has far more modifications, but we still haven't entered full-on pro drift car territory yet.

Now it's 2015, and Anton has his fully prepped Toyota, with car seat is gone, replaced by a racing seat with a harness, and the action is even better than before. The kid has clearly realized he's a YouTube star, and he hams it up for the camera with some of the funniest facial expressions you'll ever see. Regardless, the entire series is a great look at a father and son who love spending time together. The father shares his passion with his son, and it's sure to resonate strongly as the young child grows older.
