This pic looks like a Hot Wheels toy advertisement. You know, the Ferrari was going so fast it caught on fire? =oP
Ferrari it seems have been hogging the limelight lately. Unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. Just a couple of months back, a Ferrari F430 decided to make a large tree its hood ornament after its owner took it for an early morning spin (literally) along Nicoll Highway. Now, another F430 has made the headlines. Barely two weeks back, a bright Giallo Modena Ferrari F430 Spider burned to the ground right smack in the centre of town in front of SMU before the eyes of students with gaping mouths.
Burn baby burn...sigh
Imagine yourself in your 20s driving along in a highly visible Ferrari cabriolet when your 4.3-litre V8 starts smoking just as you're going past a bevy of cute college chicks. Talk about a bad day (and timing), I think this guy had the worst that day. Inexhaustible wealth aside, as an accidental Ferrari fan, I would literally be on my knees grieving if I had to watch my own prancing pony burn to the ground. Irregardless if the insurance pays me for it. I'll still form an emotional attachment to it. A Ferrari is such an emotional machine. Passion, love and envy. It's a car that encompasses so much raw human emotion. Personally it'll be like watching my faithful pup leap into a pool of burning oil right before my eyes. Painful to watch and a sight that I'll find disturbing for a long time to come.
I hope the F430 Spider's in a better place now. At least I can somehow take comfort in the thought that 10 more will rise from its ashes. Considering the big bonus package that bankers enjoy is just round the corner...
