BMW does a one-off M3 for Oktoberfest
For this year's Oktoberfest, BMW M painted this M3 in 'Münchner Wirte' livery to show the company's ties with motorsport and the city of Munich itself.
Using the legendary BMW M1 Procar from 1981 as a reference, the design of the livery features Bavarian-style façade painting and blue and white twisted cords. Also included on the livery are depictions of Munich landmarks (such as the Olympic Stadium, Siegestor, Frauenkirche church and BMW’s headquarters, a roast chestnut seller and the Wiesn-Schänke beer tent at the Oktoberfest.
FYI, Walter Maurer painted the original BMW M1 Procar 'Münchner Wirte' race car by hand 34 years ago. The BMW M3 'Münchner Wirte' will be on display at BMW Welt during the Oktoberfest.
