Get ready to scream your heart out. This is the most powerful and fastest accelerating Ferrari ever produced - the Formula Rossa roller coaster. And the good thing is you donít need to buy a COE for it.

The Formula Rossa roller coaster is set to be the star attraction of Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, when it opens on the 28th of October this year. Unveiled over the Spanish GP weekend, the car accommodates eight people in an F1 car style body, propelling them to a top speed of 240 km/h, making this the fastest roller coaster in the world, beating the F430 inspired GT Racing Coaster which only does 200km/h. For information, the GT Racing Coaster is also another attraction at Ferrari World.

The Rossa track shoots you 52 metres into the sky with the maximum speed, producing 1.7 Gs of pressure. Actually, this and the 0-100 km/h of two seconds isnít that unique considering Superman Escape in Movie World Gold Coast has more Gs and matches the Ferrariís century sprint. However, it doesnít do 240 km/h. Powering the Rossa is a 20,800 horsepower winch. Passengers will be given goggles for protection. This is definitely not for the faint hearted.

ďI canít wait to have a go on it, Itís true that we drivers are used to speed, but this way Iíll get the chance to share the thrill of doing 240 an hour with my engineers, so they can get a feel for what itís all about!Ē said Ferrariís two-time champion driver Fernando Alonso.

I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.
