Die-cast model perfection

Most of us dream of owning supercars when we're kids, and of course, only a handful of those young ones actually grow up to own one, or more than one if they're fortunate enough. What about the rest of us? Some carry on with their normal lives with the same passion for cars but never really get to spend the money on their dream cars, while others find an alternative method: Model cars.

My Mercedes 300SL..

It is an expensive hobby. One of the premium quality cars can cost from S$150 and the sky's the limit (for the 1:18 scale models). Even the smaller models in scales like 1:43 can cost up to S$1500 (MR Collection's 1/43 Ferrari FXX Scuderia with Vincenzo Bosica) because of its rarity and attention to details. Scale models allow collectors and car enthusiasts to 'live their dream' of owning supercars or their dream cars by paying a fraction of the price to own a piece of finely shaped metal in their closet that adds to some extent, aesthetic value to their home.

This man in particular, has probably the greatest collection of photos of his scale models. This is by far, the most incredible set of photos that I've seen on the Net. So check out the link below, and be inspired by his immaculate attention to detail with regards to the setting, his set, and his models. It is stunning! You'd never know they were models until you see the 'revelation' photos..

The only thing is there's not a single human in the dioramas, which makes it pretty spooky.
