Lamborghini has issued a recall on a total of 428 units of the 2007-2008 model year Murcielago Coupe and Roadster models in the United States due to fuel leakage concern.

According to the company, the welds holding the fuel pump support inside the fuel tank could detach, leading to a fuel leak. In the presence of an ignition source, this situation could result in a fire hazard and thats something any automaker would want to prevent from happening due to potential claims and law suits.

The Italian supercar maker told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that its U.S. dealers will replace the Murcielago's fuel tank free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin during in June. Owners of the abovementioned Lamborghini models in Singapore may wish to check out the issue with your agent.

I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.
