Skoda new Superb 280 is so fast that the company reckons it can beat some supercars. To prove their point, they did an advertisement showing its top of the line estate in a drag race with supercars from "both past and present". Hmmm.. but these aren't exactly cars from the present...

Packing nearly 280bhp from its 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, the all-wheel drive estate will do the century sprint in just 5.8 seconds, making it faster than a host of supercars from the 80's. While the ad is mildly impressive, it does put in perspective how much the auto industry has advanced in the last couple of decades.
