The 2010 Hyundai Sonata has finally been released in Korea and I believe it should be coming to our shores in the near future. Finally, new Sonata owners won't have to worry about ignorant Singaporeans who flag their cars down as a taxi..
Recently launched in Seoul, Euisun Chung, Hyundai’s vice chairman, said that the Sonata is a “huge leap forward” in terms of styling and quality. Well I do hope that their interior plastics have improved. But to be fair, Hyundai's cars have been looking better and better over the years and this is no exception. However, it seems to me that they have 'stolen' a bit of the front end from the Toyota Camry, and the rear from a blend of the Nissan Latio, the Honda Civic, and a BMW 3 series (in the following order from the outermost tip of the tail-light to the end where it stops before the number plate).
The range of engines are not out yet for Singapore but, what I do know is that it will be slightly bigger than the outgoing model' at 4820mm long, 1835mm wide and 1470mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2795mm. And the interior definitely looks like a better place to be than it is now..
This will take on the 2010 Camry and the Nissan Teana by storm.. Its about time the Koreans strike back..
