Tesla sells more Model S than the combined sales of the 7 Series and S-Class

Attached Image According to Digital Trends, Elon Musk’s electric saloon is the king of the luxury sedan segment in America by managing to beat both the BMW 7 Series and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class in the third quarter of the year in terms of sales.

While BMW sold 3,634 units of the 7 Series and Mercedes sold 3,138 units of the S-Class, Tesla managed to sell 9,156 units of its Model S. Tesla then went on to point out that "Our Q3 delivery count should be viewed as slightly conservative, as we only count a car as delivered if it is transferred to the customer and all paperwork is correct,”

Worldwide sales of the Model S during that period amounted to 15,800 cars, while the Model X SUV, also posted an impressive Q3 result, with 8,700 cars sold.

Three years after Tesla started, production has increased five times to 100,000 units. And with the upcoming entry-level Model 3 hitting the market soon, Tesla's future looks promising.

Since young, Fai Ming has always centered his life around cars. In fact his first word was 'car' and not 'mum' or 'dad'. Aren't kids cute?

I believed it is an unfair comparison. Apples should be compared to apples while oranges to oranges.

Secondly, they are on a different platform. Otherwise why do we have separate races for formula One, gas driven and the other electric driven.

Tesla has a novelty factor too.
