Google scales back on its autonomous vehicle plans

By Faiming_low on 17 Dec 2016 in New technology, Other News

Attached Image Seems like Apple isn’t the only technology company scaling back on its autonomous vehicle plans. Google has now been reported to do so too. According the The Information, Google has opted to instead focus on partnerships with existing automakers and to produce software that allows a vehicle to drive itself instead of making a whole new driverless car by itself.

However, this does not mean the brand is not going to expand its automotive plans as Larry Page is planning to promote its autonomous vehicle project to its own company under Google's parent company, Alphabet's umbrella.

While Google is said to be abandoning plans to build its own autonomous car, the company's fleet of prototypes are still running around the streets and have since clocked up over 3 million kilometres.
