Upcoming Mercedes-AMG A45 will output more than 400bhp

blogentry-133713-0-21815100-1493277596_thumb.jpgCurrently, Audi's RS3 is the the most powerful hot hatch money can buy. But according to Mercedes-AMG boss, the next A45 will have even more.

 

In an interview with Car Advice, Tobias Moers confirmed that the new A45 will have to churn out at least 400bhp from its all-new 2.0-litre engine.

 

“We don’t want to give a tip or an advantage to our competitors, but we do need to be over 300kW (402bhp) – that’s the new standard.”

 

He also hinted that having an electric turbine is something they would consider. The ultra hot hatch is unlikely to go on sale before 2019.
