Subaru teases us with a WRX STI Type RA photo
Earlier this week, we reported that Subaru is preparing to launch a BRZ that has been breathed on by STi. Now they want to launch a faster WRX STi.
As seen on Road and Track, the Japanese company will also be showcasing their more hardcore WRX STI Type RA, which is also set to debut on the 8th. Subaru has released a few details on the new car, promising "gearing and engine upgrades" and other niceties like a carbon roof and rear wing, new Bilstein dampers, and upgraded Recaro seats. It will also get the signature gold BBS wheels that measures 19-inches.
The first Type RA variant was only limited to the Japanese market and it went on sale in 1993. It was targeted at owners who wanted to take part in races, without having to go the extra mile to track-prep their cars and strip away unnecessary weight.
A sign of exciting things to come from Subaru? It sure seems so.
