Fighting a losing battle in the quarter mile drag race with only front-wheel drive, the 316bhp Honda Civic Type R will have its work cut out challenging the all-wheel drive 306bhp Volkswagen Golf R.

 

Likewise, the 345bhp Ford Focus RS will be have a tough fight facing the 376bhp Mercedes-AMG A 45 and the 392bhp Audi RS3 Sportback with its manual gearbox vs the two other hatch's quick-shifting dual-clutch gearboxes.
