New BMW M2 Competition to come with 404 horses
More info on the upcoming BMW M2 Competition has been leaked out onto the internet. It will have more power and unfortunately, weigh more too.
According to forum posts on Bimmerpost, the new M2 Competition will replace the normal M2 and will be equipped with a new S55 series engine that is found on the M3 and M4. It will produce 404bhp and 550Nm of torque in the M2, 21bhp less than the M3 and M4 without Competition package.
The increase of power will allow the small coupe to do the century sprint in 4.4 seconds when paired with the manual and 4.2 seconds for the dual-clutch gearbox.
Unfortunately, the engine causes the car’s weight to balloon from 1495kg to 1550kg thanks to additional cooling requirements.
Other notable changes include a re-tuned suspension, a carbon fiber tower brace, a new 19-inch wheel design and an optional track braking package with a large six-piston calipers for the front and four-piston ones at the rear clamping onto larger discs (400mm and 380mm).
