Nissanís luxury division, Infiniti, has just release its line of high performance vehicles called the Infiniti Performance Line or IPL in short. IPL focuses not just on engine power and acceleration but also redefines the total vehicle ownership experience. IPL promises unique driving attributes with exclusive designs. The 2011 IPL G Coupe is the first of what is expected to be a range of IPL performance vehicles in the future.

IPL models will be identified by a special engine cover and trunklid badging. The letter "I" features a red insert representing sporty spirit while the Infiniti-violet "shadow" behind the letter appears like an Infiniti flag to indicate the brand's inspired performance promise.

As the first member of the Infiniti Performance Line, the IPL G Coupe features modified bumpers, aggressive side sills, a rear spoiler, chrome exhaust tips, and exclusive 19-inch wheels with Bridgestone Potenza RE50A performance tires. Inside, the cabin is nicely equipped with leather upholstery, red accent stitching, and 'Silk Obi' aluminum trim. Other goodies include a Bose audio system, GPS navigation, rear view monitor, and moonroof.

Power is provided by a 3.7-liter V6 engine with 348 hp and 276 lb-ft of torque. It produces an extra 18 hp and 8 Nm of torque as compared to the standard G Coupe, thanks to a high-flow exhaust and a revised ECU. Dynamically, the IPL G Coupe features a sport suspension with stiffer springs, high performance braking system, and a Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VSLD).

I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.
