Honda Inspire received minor tweaks

Hot on the heels of the presentation of the updated 2011 Accord sedan and coupe models for North America, Honda today released the refreshed JDM version of the saloon that goes by the name Inspire in Japan. This is the equivalent of the Thailand-built Honda Accord that Kah Motors brings into Singapore.

Since the Inspire already featured the 2011 Accord's reflector extensions at the back, Honda focused its attention on the front end which received a new grill, and bumper design which mimics its American cousin. The JDM car also gets newly styled 17-inch alloy wheels.

In the cabin, Honda applied faux wood accents extensively on the steering wheel, the center, lower and rear consoles as well as the door panels. Let’s hope that the Singapore version does not get a similar treatment or it will simply be too “ah peh-ish”. Rain-sensing wipers are now a standard feature in the 2011 model year Inspire.

Some minor tweaks under the hood helped to improve the fuel economy of the 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine.

I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.
