German tuner MTM has released a set of photos previewing its upcoming tuning packages for the entire A1 range.

MTM promises performance upgrades on all available engines for the A1 and has released details for two of its offerings. For the 1.6 TDI diesel with 105 PS (77 kW), MTM will offer an output upgrade to 121 PS (89 kW) while boosting torque to 282 Nm from the original 250 Nm. The “damage” to the wallet for the power increase is €1,199. For the same price, an output boost can be had on the 1.4 TFSI model. Power is increased from the existing 122 PS (90 kW) to 152 PS (112 kW). For an extra €600, MTM will increase the top speed limiter to 220 km/h from the gasoline model’s current top speed of 203 km/h.

The optional MTM bimoto 8 x 18 ET 35 LK 5x100 rims are priced at €1,500. When fitted with the 215/35R18 Conti Sport Contact 2 (CSC 2) tires, the complete wheel package set the buyer back at €2,349. My current experience with the CSC 2 in the Jetta Sport isn’t that great as I have experienced wheel spin on several occasions.

I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.
