Lamborghini Gallardo receives carbon fiber treatment

American tuners Famous Autosports and Tecnocraft have joined forces to come up with Tecnocraft's carbon fiber body and interior kit for the Lamborghini Gallardo.

The carbon parts for the Gallardo model are comprehensive and extend to the underbody panels, front bonnet, rear wing, rear diffuser, bucket seats, engine covers, air box and racing harnesses. The complete carbon fiber package by Tecnocraft saves up to 136 kg (300 lbs) of weight on a standard Gallardo.

Each of these carbon fiber parts are individually priced. Just the front bumper cover comes in at US$4,500 (€3,363) while the rear diffuser costs another 4,500 grand. That beautiful rear wing can be yours at $6,800 (€5,082). These are carbon fiber and not inexpensive to manufacture but I guess exclusivity does command a price premium especially on a supercar like the Gallardo.

Famous Autosports is located in Canoga Park, CA while Tecnocraft's facility is in Pico Rivera, CA.

I have been a car fanatic since 1989, when my father was changing our family car then to a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL fitted with a Twin Cam 16 valve engine that was carburetor-fed, a big deal back in those days. The automobile technology and industry fascinates me and I hope to broadcast these interesting developments to everyone out there through this blog.

theres mistake on your "4,500 grand" it shd be 4.5 grand instead of 4,500 grand coz 1 grand equal to 1 thousand. =)
