Man hid his E30 BMW M3 in his living room as Hurricane Matthew loomed

By Deeq on 12 Oct 2016 in Other blogs

For a car guy without a garage, storms can be a nightmare, and a hurricane can be even worse. However, BMW Blog showed how an enterprising E30 M3 owner has demonstrated that with a bit of quick thinking you can still provide your prized ride with shelter. The owner in question, who goes by the name of Jalilsup on Instagram, was faced with that nightmare scenario as Hurricane Matthew prepared to pummel the East Coast. Instead of surrendering to the storm, he wheeled the M3 up to the twin doors of his home and proceeded to thread it in to a safe spot in the living room. You can see all of his photos here.

Common mispronounced car names

By Deeq on 11 May 2016 in Discussions, Other blogs

As a "car guy"(or girl), nothing grinds your gears more than hearing a mispronounced car brand or model name. There may be some that even ‘we’ have been mispronouncing. Lets go through some of the more common mispronunciations we’ve been hearing.

Attached Image Audi: It's aw-dee, not o-dee. Like the sound you make when it hurts: aw-dee.

Attached Image Chevrolet: For a GM marque that's been around over a hundred years, you'd think there's no way people could still get Chevrolet wrong. Its shev-ro-ley.

New Top Gear host not sure why Jeremy Clarkson was fired

By Deeq on 04 May 2016 in Other blogs

Attached Image In a recent interview, current Top Gear host Chris Evans called former host Jeremy Clarkson "one of my heroes," and said that his ouster was "bizarre" considering his impressive list of offenses.

"What is fascinating is that he went for what he went for, considering what had gone on before," Evans told interviewer Alastair Campbell. "If you look at the chronology of controversy of Top Gear over the last five or six years, it is bizarre that he went for losing his rag over his dinner when there had been international incidents before that..."

Lego unveils its take on the Porsche 911 GT3 RS

By Deeq on 28 Apr 2016 in Other blogs

Great news of your a Lego fan and also a Porsche fan.

The Danish toy manufacturer has unveiled a brick-by-brick version of Porsche's 911 GT3 RS sports car. Although it looks slightly bionic, the Lego 911 GT3 RS is full of proper Porsche cues all the way down to a script RS logo on the model's wheel centers.

Attached Image
With 2,704 pieces to assemble, Lego's version of the 911 GT3 RS isn't for the faint of heart. Then again, neither is the actual production car with its naturally-aspirated flat-6 that spins to 9,000 rpm. Lego hasn't released performance specifications for the model, but we doubt it produces 475 horsepower like the real one.
