Porsche 918 Spyder parts sure don't come cheap!

Attached Image Someone from Reddit has upload screenshots of the prices for parts of the Porsche 918 Spyder and wow, they sure do cost a lot! While the car in question is a Porsche and is one of Porsche's most expensive cars when it was on sale, we didn't expect the motorsport-derived naturally aspirated 4.6-litre V8 engine to cost S$276,000 to replace.

Tomorrow's world is already here - in Japan

Attached Image

Housewife Mayumi Hareguchi, 38, lives with her husband and six-year-old son in Shioashiya, Japan's Hyogo Prefecture. Sandwiched between the picturesque Mount Rokko and Osaka Bay, her neighbourhood looks quintessentially Japanese, with one added feature - a sea of rooftop solar panels.

Inside, her home is kitted out with smart technologies, including a lithium-ion battery that stores solar power, a fuel cell in the backyard that generates electricity and heat for immediate consumption, and a smart home energy management system (HEMS) that displays on the television screen the family's energy generation and consumption at any given time.

The evolution of...Tuk-tuks...

By Deeq on 16 Jun 2015 in Hybrid/electric cars, Concept cars

Attached Image Tuk-tuks might be everyday, ubiquitous transportation in Thailand or Phnom Penh, but can these tiny three-wheeled taxis also find a place in sprawling, car-obsessed cities like Singapore?

A design student has reimagined a sleek, electric, app-connected version of the vehicle, called the Lindo, that could give city dwellers a new option for public transportation. The system is designed to be more flexible than taking a bus or train stuck on a fixed route, and more sustainable than riding in a full-sized taxi or Uber car.
